United Children Africa e.V. is a small, non-profit organization founded in December 2022. But it all began a year earlier with the story of a single child: Jane. You can read her story here.
After our first trip to Uganda, it quickly became clear how great the need was — and how many people were willing to help. More and more individuals wanted to support a child or contribute to our work in general. At first, we cooperated with various local organizations, but as the number of children we supported grew, we decided to establish our own registered organization — both in Germany and in Uganda — to ensure greater transparency and accountability.
Today, we support around 100 children across three regions of Uganda: Zirobwe, Mityana, and the capital, Kampala. Most of our children come from Zirobwe. We assist them in attending school, provide necessary school supplies, and closely collaborate with several strong primary and secondary schools. In addition to educational sponsorships, we also support the children’s families and encourage self-reliance.
Our goal is to create long-term perspectives. That’s why we’re increasingly initiating self-help projects. We host parenting workshops, support elderly, ill, or particularly vulnerable individuals in local communities, and take part in an annual kids’ camp.
We’re currently looking for a suitable piece of land in Uganda to establish a permanent base for our work — a kind of community center that can serve as a hub for children, families, and staff.
We are a small, dedicated team working closely together with one shared mission: to help people in Uganda find a way out of poverty.
